How To Vote in Person

In Arizona you can vote in person on Election Day or you can vote early starting four weeks before the election. If you haven’t voted since 2020 you will find in-person voting has changed. Now we vote at Vote Centers instead of neighborhood polling places. And the check-in process is also a bit different.

What Has Changed

Voting will take place at approximately 130 Vote Centers located throughout Pima County. You can vote at any Vote Center. So you will be able to vote at the center that is most convenient for you. Early voting will also take place at a smaller number of Early Voting Sites.

When you get to the Vote Center a poll worker will check you in, verify your information and give you a ballot. Now the check-in will be done on a tablet computer instead of using pre-printed lists. A ballot for your precinct will be printed on the spot and handed to you. From this point the voting process is the same as before.

ID Is Required

Everyone must show a valid ID to vote. What qualifies as valid ID can get complicated. Most people use one of these photo IDs:

  • Valid Arizona Driver License
  • Valid Arizona ID card issued by the Secretary of State
  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
  • Valid United State federal, state or local government-issued identification

If you don’t have one of these forms of ID, you still have a variety of options. Here is where it gets complicated. But don’t worry, we’ve made it easy to figure out. To learn more about the different acceptable ID options click here…

Early Voting

Early in-person voting begins 4 weeks before an election. Voting will be held at Early Vote Sites throughout Pima County. You can also drop of your completed ballot-by-mail there.

We will publish the locations of Early Voting Sites and Election Day Vote Centers as soon as they are available.
